Air Berlin, Niki and DBA

Air Berlin is one of Europe’s greatest low cost airline success stories and is now the third largest behind Ryanair and Easyjet. Unlike these two, it has grown without getting rid of the things that make air travel more interesting - namely food, drinks, newspapers, assigned seating and guaranteed connections.

Air Berlin Expansion

Air Berlin does not do things on a small scale; in November 2006 they announced fleet expansion orders with Boeing for a total of 85 new aircraft, 60 x 737-800’s and 25 x 737- 700’s.

Equally important from a passenger perspective is the growing number of departure points and destinations served by a carrier that offer low fares and on-board service (including assigned seating at check-in).

There are too many destinations to list here and it may not be your first preference to fly to Spain via Berlin but we’d strongly recommend you check out the ticket prices through the booking engine on this page before you make a decision to book elsewhere.

Air Berlin has grown both organically and by the acquisition of two other airlines: Niki (Austria) and dba (German).

Cheap Flights Air Berlin style

We don’t just like Air Berlin we love it! Built on the premise that you CAN offer low fares without compromising the passenger experience, Air Berlin has grown from a German charter airline into a massive mover of passengers from Northern and mainland Europe to the Mediterranean.

Its business model allows it to dominate some airports and its position as the largest operator into Mallorca’s Palma airport gives some idea of its size. From the UK its not just Stansted where it is important but it now has flights from Belfast, Bournemouth, Glasgow and Manchester.
